Recently I drained a septal abscess in 7 year old child. This cases highlights the importance of asking kids not to pick their noses.
ReplyDeleteyou can apply some Vaseline or medicated ointment neosporin eye ointment into the vestibule of nose so that these remain wet and do not stick the crusts because children make a habit to pluck these crusts. Plucking causing bleeding from the nose and may cause infection leading to abscess.
